Another dance year comes to an end!

Yesterday was the annual dance recital for Mae and Delsin. A chance to "strut their stuff" and show what they have learned with all the hard earned money I've given to the dance studio...hehe. Delsin performed in three dances: Ballet, Acro & Tap, and did an absolutely amazing job! He was so stinking cute too but what else is new? :) Mae performed in both shows doing a combination of her competitive routines and routines involving the non-competitive dancers in her weekly classes. She had the chance to show off her skills in: Ballet, Jazz, Acro, Musical Theatre and Highland. She was brilliant. Of course. :)

Our amazing little man with his rose, a theatre tradition :)

Ashley and other shenanigans in Sudbury!

Mae, Karyn, Ashley MacIsaac, Jacquelyn, & Briar May 22, 2010 in Sudbury, ON!

After the Sudbury competition...which went on and on and on...we were headed back to the car and we saw Ashley MacIsaac talking to some of the O.P.P. pipe band members. I decided to pull a "pushy-Mom" and barged my way in asking if the girls...all wearing their recently acquired "bling" LOL...could please have a photo with him! We would return a few hours later to hear him play a concert. And it was bloody amazing! (Thanks to Karyn for the picture!)

Here are some more pictures, courtesy of Karyn, so you can see some of the other shenanigans the girls got up to in Sudbury!

Mae & Karyn on the way to Sudbury...poor Briar is somewhere in the back being consumed by all of our stuff, LOL
Apparently my daughter cannot be trusted with a luggage cart unsupervised!
And neither can Karyn, haha!

Alone in a hotel room with friend and camera, let the chaos begin!

Highland Friends

At the Sudbury Celtic Festival and Games dance competition, we were joined by two of Mae's fellow dancers from our dance school: On Your Toes School of Highland Dance, with the fabulous Miss Jacquelyn Nicholls teaching. Karyn and Briar have become great friends to Mae and the girls had a great time together. During the competition a local newspaper photographer took refuge under our tent during the opening ceremonies and promised to return to take a picture of the girls. She made good on her promise and when I checked the June edition of the "Snap Sudbury" paper I found a picture of our girls. :)

Briar on the right in the photo had a great day in her last "Novice" competition earning a 4th, 2nd, and two 1st in her four dances and took the overall Novice trophy on the day...woo hoo!! Karyn and Mae ended up competing against each other...ACK...in what was Mae's first "Intermediate" competition. Both girls did Miss Jacquelyn, and themselves, proud with Karyn earning two 3rd and one 1st and Mae earning one 3rd and three 2nd in their four dances! It was a great day and so much fun! And who knew it would be sweltering hot and sunny in Sudbury on the May 2-4 weekend! ;)

Hello? Is this thing on??

Hello poor, neglected, little blog. It's not my fault. Blame Facebook.

I want to try putting some videos on here, new gadget, new learning curve. I am sans camera right now and I'm suffering major withdrawal symptoms, ugh. So I will have to make due with some videos for now.

These vids show Mae competing in Sudbury at her first competition as an "intermediate" highland dancer. The day was topped off by a wicked evening performance by Ashley MacIsaac. Bliss.

Enjoy!

Laura

Whoopsie, guess I should have told you which one she is...hehe. She's the little one in the white sailor suit on the left in the first vid and the little one on the left in the blue jacket in the other vids.

Welcome 2010!

I hope you have all enjoyed your holiday season and you were able to ring in the new year with people you love. I have no idea where the last few months have gone, life just seems to fly by at light speed these days. I would think having four busy kids would have something to do with it!

Wishing love, peace and happiness to all.

Love from me and the clan xo
